Frontend is to play dmods, not create them. Check your 'develop' directory in the dink smallwood directory. You should have a file called tut1.txt there, it has the basic basic stuff there. Also read the dmod authoring faq at http://www.prowler-pro.com/dmods/dmod-faq.html - theres also a "skeleton" dmod you can download that is bare bones.

dinkc.txt has most all of the commands available with descriptions, too, its in your develop directory as well.

when i go into dink edit it is only the main game that you edit, and there is no tut1 in my forlders. do i have to use the dinksmallwoood106exl to redo the game. Also when i go into the dinkeditexl it says cannot find tiles\splash.bmp in game or dink default drive.
PLEASE HELP ME I REALLY WANT TO MAKE MY OWN D MODS

The skeleton is a dmod that has nothing in it but a screen of grass, but it has all the folders and stuff you otherwise have to make from scratch.

Go to http://dink.telefragged.com/author_help.shtml it will help you get started even without tut1.txt.

It also explains dinkedit, you have to add a parameter to tell it to read a different folder.

Good luck.

OK, here we are just TIRED of reading people who ARE YELLING ALL THE TIME and who can't READ the FAQs. Tamtur made the effort to give you the direct link to the FAQ.

You're insulting this great guy who spent hours of works for guys like you who don't even read this work. He didn't HAD to make the FAQ, as he already knew how to do all. He made this for YOU. So read the FAQ.

OK, now: 1) if you lauch DinkEdit, it edits the main game. You have to use a front end to edit a given dmod. But you have to begin your dmod first, it's not as easy as MS Word or such. All is explained in the FAQ, question 4.

2) if you installed Dink in C:\Program Files\Dink Smallwood\, then check C:\Program Files\Dink Smallwood\develop\tut1.txt for the basics. That's the file TamTur told you about.
It's in the FAQ too, question 2

3) That's not DMod Movie Skeleton (a skeleton to make a DMod which is like a movie). Tamtur told about the skeleton DMod, a tool to esaily start a DMod.
That's twice in the FAQ, questions 1 & 4.
(I'm translating the FAQ in my own language, so you can't beat me on the FAQ ;))

Here. Now any silly question will be replyied by this: :P

Now, good work on your DMod. DMod creation is just GREAT :)

Goodbye.
