My computer stopped alowing me to do anything java relate. ie, go to sites where java is run... Anyone know what i'd need to download aplet wise or whatever to be able to run javascript? I don't think its IE, i looked at all the options, and everything is as it should be, so i think some files got lost or something.

DON'T confuze Java and JavaScript. Java is a programming language from Sun, JavaScript is a script language launched by Netscape as "LiveScript" in the beginning. The only common thing between the 2 is the C-like commands, and also the "Java" in their name.So if you talk about JavaScript, then you'll need to enable it your IE settings, and same for Java... Well, precise a bit and we'll see... |

And just because I want to be nasty (and boring), I'd say it isn't really Dink related ;) |

Yeah, but in the link below someone (wasn't it you?) posted a link to runscape, and it runs of java, or javascript, whatever i don't know, and i can't use it. I did all the ie settings as they seem they should be, so i dunno. Are they ANY kinds of files i would need? |

Try using the latest JIT (just-in-time) compiler plug-in from Sun for Java. It makes applet's run faster. Not all versions of IE have the latest Java, and Microsoft's Java is known to be corrupt. I have JIT for Java2 and I've managed to connect to Runescape from a 28.8k Modem. Graphics are a bit so-so but the map is huge and the number of quests are large. |

(damn I'm unmasked)So it's JAVA and not Javascript (Javascript is far away to be able to make a 3D game). So in your Internet Options, Advanced part, you can enable Java or not. Else, indeed, at java.sun.com you can download the lasted JRE (Java Runtime Environnement), ie v1.3. |
