Hi,
Thanks for the help on how to add new sprites to DMOD's. I understand how that's done now .... kinda, LOL. I was wondering if you could tell me the names of some of the best software packages for creating new sprites ?

The best software to make sprites which looks good are... 3D programs.
But as for 2D graphics, I use Paint Shop Pro for basic creation, and also DImage, a program made by Someone which allow you to convert a graphic into blue-yellow-red- and grey-scale (eg you've a classic bed and you can turn it into a red bed :).
You'll find it at the Dink Network :)

I could also advice you PhotoShop, but it's expensive and not easy to use.

There're also some free 3D packages:
- Strata3D
- Arr.. Can't remember the name...
Help me people, it's the package Simon said he used...

Well, I'm not a great graphics creator, but here's what I know.
You may also ask BlueRose what she uses :)

I believe Simon used Blender (do a search at download.com ) a free 3d modeling software tool.

As for graphics, I think Photoshop is the best all around, at least I use that most. Also, if you're wondering, I'm pretty sure RTSoft used Bryce 4 for most of their trees (except pine trees) and the rocks. However, I've been messing around with it, trying to make new sprites and stuff with Bryce 4, but anti-aliasing sucks.

I use Paint Shop Pro (Vers 4 only... :-( ) and sometimes Photoshop (at work) for changing existing sprites and for animated sprites I use Blender a free 3D program that you can get from http://www.blender.nl It takes a while to learn, especially if you want to create characters or monsters. But there are many tutorials on the web for it. Wesley used it for some of the LOT graphics too.

I then tidy the Blender graphics up (convert them from targa files to bmps, add shadows, remove the white edges) in Paint Shop Pro.
