This is what I did: I created a 3D image using Cybermotion. I loaded it in Paintshop Pro and applied the Dink palette. I also reduced the color depth. The problem: When I run my dmod, the colors flash back and forth from normal to some really wierd color scheme. My computer is set at 16Bit because my other programs won't work at 256. Is the problem I am having a result of a system incompatibility or is it because I used two different prograns to make the image? Cybermotion doesn't let you save in bmp format. So I have to open it in PSP to convert it. Please help me! |

That's very weird.. does the bitmaps look screwed in Windows? Even if the sprite is not animated it flashes? If it is a system incompatibility you probably wouldn't be able to view Dink graphics properly either. |

Did you tried without reducing color depth? Maybe Dink WANT its 256 colours palette and not anyone else... |

It looks perfect in Paint Shop Pro with the Dink Palette applied. (like any of the other graphics in the original game) It is my splash (if that makes a difference). I use Dinkrun, so when I hit enter on my game title, and the game starts, the screen starts to flash, slower at first and speeds up as the game gets closer to loading. The only way I can describe the colors it flashes to would be to say that it looks like its in the sun. (yellow, orange, etc.)and is really, really bright. I don't know what's wrong. I'll try it without reducing the colors and see what happens. I did try to use closest color instead of error diffusion. I thought that might take care of any differences in the color palette, but that didn't work either. |

Try also to use the palette which is linked in the Taking Screenshots v1.00 tutorial (Dink Network, Author Files part). |

To Beuc: Dink can accept all palettes, not only its own... To justme: |

Don't know why, but it's working fine now. I did two things, restarted my computer (not for that purpose) and later increased the color depth (as suggested). I'm not sure which one actually fixed the problem, but thanks for all your help. |
