Is there any quality but FREE .mid recorder... BTW: Can Dink Use .wav files as the background?

Yes. There is a way to loop wav files so they will play as the background. I think "Search for Milli Vanilli" features this technology. You should check it out.
(I haven't used wavs yet so I can't tell you offhand how it is done. Check out the author files at dink.telefragged.com and check out dinkc.txt in the develop folder at your Dink folder.)
