I don't know how this happened, but maybe one of you can help. For some reason when i try to play my D-Mod it wouldn't run. So I was like "Well, this sucks." Then I opened up winamp and it works! I figured it was the sound, so I closed winamp and checked the disable sound button and it works. I have looked over all of the sound info and it is all the same as it always has been. I hope one of you has an answer to why my sound is screwed up =(

You probably know this already, but you should be able to figure out where the bug is by seeing how far the game starts up. If it doesn't start the problem is in the dink.ini file. If it goes past the opening screen it's the main.c file and if it happens on entering a certain screen in the game it's the local.c file.

Well, it must be in the ini then because it shows the loading screen, then quits.

What kind of stuff should i look for?
It must be sound related, since turning the sound off works, but I have no idea what it might be. Also, I reinstalled Dink, and it didn't help. I'm so mad!!

What kind of sound card do you have? It sounds like the game just doesn't like your sound card.

It also sounds like you can only have one audio stream active at once (newer sound cards can have multiple audio streams). This is why the game works with winamp open or the sound disabled because in both cases the game doesn't try to use audio.

Does music work? Because midi is usually separate from the rest of the audio.

Yes, midi works. I don't use midi, though, and none of the sound effects work. If it's my sound card, I don't know why. It used to work fine, even on my DMod. I looked in the Dink.C file and i tried what it says previously and it didn't work. Now nothing works....

I use Awe64 or whatever it is. I know its fine because I played the origal Dink. Now, I can actually play the other DMods I have, just fine. The midis have always worked, but now even the sound effects work.

Hmm...I used to use that same card with dink and I never had any problems. Well except for the problem with the midis stopping every now and then. But I think that's a problem with the game itself.

Anyways, try installing the newest drivers. If you have the newest drivers already installed then try reinstalling them.
