An explanation of Dink Smallwood's Dink.dat

Dink Smallwood is an interesting game with many custom data formats. The game maps for example, are split across two different files in the form of Dink.dat and Map.dat with the former telling the game which screens go where, and the latter documenting which screens exist and have stuff on them etc. To find out more, let's get a hex editor and open the file up.

The first thing you'll see is the word "Smallwood". Nobody knows why this is here, but it's probable that at some point, you were able to change Dink's last name or something like that. This field is actually slightly longer than indicated and is around 20 bytes long.
